Title: Hello, and info
Post by: daredevildennis on 08. Sep 2009, 14:21
Hi new to forum, couldn't spot a welcome section so Hi.

Got Btv last week, dit7421/05 box, tvclient V 1.6.25077.835, ROM V 1.1527, STB/CPU info: PACE Pace_DiT7421_05_L4/297

Can telnet port 8080. Box appears in hub as RM4100

Heres my problem. No matter how I connect this box up, there is a 'ghost' of another channel behind the picture, scrolling left-right/right-left. Have tried connecting just the dit7421 to tv and still get the same. Single scart to tv, aerial in + rf out for when box is off.

If I disconnect the RF out cable, the image disappears, but picture quality drops significantly ???

Anyone any ides?

Sounds like something else transmitting on the same RF channel to your TV.
Try changing the boxes output to a different Channel output (it will be in one of the settings menu's under RF output channel).

Please note, the channel number is NOT the preset number.. ie 1,2,3,4,5,6 on your TV...

Try something in the rage of 36 - 42.. then retune your TV until you find the picture again.

Mick,

Yup, that was my first thought, but have the same problem even when my other kit is unplugged from mains.

The ghosting is more prominent on lighter scenes, but still cannot understand why disconnecting the RF out lead from the BTV causes the picture to degrade and ghosting to clear. It is as if the problem is with the modulator in the BTV box.
