Title: Encoded Serial output?
Post by: bobica257 on 05. Feb 2011, 22:33
Hello, i am new here.
I started working on a IPN/P 330HD device.
And i have problems with uart 0. I isolated pins and connected RxD and GND with cat i see this

xosPda serial#dcde7fc8292a63f2abdd30xxxxxxxxxx subid 0xc4
xenv cs2 ok
power supply: ok
dram0 ok (6)
dram1 ok (8)
zboot ok
.....and so on...there is a lot of this in the output.

How do i fix this?

I've tried Minicom and putty and no joy there.
Help.
P.S. I am using CP2102 based usb to ttl.
Thanks, Borna

is there MS Mediaroom running on that box ?
if that is the case then there is most likely no more output after the "zboot ok"
the MS bootloader has some debug messages, but they are usually disabled in the code.

you will not get anywhere with the serial console.

So this goes like this

Box starts up
the xos lines apper
a lot of lines appear
couple seceonds pouse
On display of the box was P1:01 and now displey goes off
little less lines then then first time apear and diplay shows P2:02
Little pouse
box show P1:01
and the little lines apear in serial console
and now the fun part
box shows IP:01 which show when ther is no network
and in the serial console lines starting to show up every half of minute like
Discover DHCP server ...
Discover DHCP server ...
Discover DHCP server ...
Discover DHCP server ...
but only as a bunch of strange chars

So maybe there is a hope, becuse maybe the zboot output is encrypted...
P.S. I duuno what software is running on the box, how do i find out?
P.P.S
i got another problem i have isolated jtag pins and made the cable but when i try -probeonly it writes
that is chip unkown but it prints out the chip code 08630001
What might be the problem?

Maybe the baud rate changed...
