Yes thats first thing I've done, it's connected. I saw in pictures in Wiki that there should be that rezistor with number 103 on it. So I'm gong to check what those 103 are and then I'll let you know if I managed to get the box working.

Really ? That stupid jumper is not working well that would explain everything, now that I'm looking at that jumper you're right there is a rezistor missing in there. Damn I'm not very good at soldering and I haven't got right equipment to enable it on CPU, but if I add that missing rezistor there it should be working right?

You know I was trying to make modchip on VIP 1216 but I failed, so I'm trying to modify X301T. So I've soldered modchip with LEDs to box enabld JTAG, replaced BooterCE I haven't patched Win trust model because when I was trying to patch it program gave me error but it useless form me and I've enabled USB and other stuff. I start the box yellow LED goes on for around two seconds then red LED is on. And box is trying to download firmware. Yellow led indicates only reset because when I unplugg the modchip from JTAG LEDs are doing the same thing yellow and then red. Modchip is programmed correctly and wires are good too I've checked them. I've read in some readme that was with compiled stuff and source for modchip that it should be connected like this:
TDI PC0
TCK PC1
TMS PC2
TD0 PC3
but on schematics, JTAG is connected to PD0... So this is a bit confusing.
What should I do to make the modchip work with my X301T
(Sorry for my bad English i hope you understand what kind of problem I have)

I don't want to start a new topic so I'll write it to this old one. When I was preparing to install the modchip I noticed that some rezistors around JTAG are missing. Here is picture.
I have read something here on forum about missing rezistors, but it was on some other box so I want to ask if you got some ideas how to get JTAG work what should I use there how can I figure out what rezistors should be there. Box version is VIP1216E I tried to look after older versions but no luck this version was manufactured since October 2007 so I don't think I can find an older box.

I didn't know that modchip works without usb reset pad. It shouldn't be problem now to install modchip. Hope I don't screw it up.

Hi I'm new in modding BT boxes, I want to mod my VIP1216. I have read throught everything here but I can't find USB reset pad on VIP1216, haven't got a clue where it is or how can I find it can you help me please? (I guess modchip won't work without it right)

I'm planning to mod my VIP1216 so far as I know I should install the modhcip like this:
Pin 4 on the modchip goes to the Reset pad (marked orange) on the USB chip.
Pin 5 on the modchip goes to JTAG pin 3
Pin 6 on the modchip goes to JTAG pin 9
Pin 7 on the modchip goes to VCC on the box (3v)
Pin 8 on the modchip goes to GND on the box.
Pin 11 on the modchip goes to JTAG pin 7
Pin 12 on the modchip goes to JTAG pin 5
Pin 20 on the modchip goes to VCC on the box (3v)
Pin 22 on the modchip goes to GND on the box (3v)But this is for X300T, I found JTAG on VIP1216 but I'm having problem finding VCC GND and Reset Pad on USB chip. I took some pictures (bad quality I shuold post som better soon)

Hi I'm new here and really like what oyu guys are doing. I want to try mod my stb but first I have some questions.
1. So far as I know if I want to do any changes to files on HDD I must instal modchip otherwise box will download new firmware and everything what I changed is going to be useless. Or is there some other way how to bypass that?
2. I was reading about FTP access into HDD in box. Does this work on VIP 1216 too or is it only for X300T?(I don't want to change my VIP 1216 for X300T becouse VIP 1216 has got bigger HDD)
3. What other changes can I do? (IPTV it's called Magio it should be same thing as T-Home only with stupider name)
