StreamOnTV is an alternative user interface known here for the set-top boxes, what their functions to several useful functions.
StreamOnTV enables the playback of media files from their own network-sharing and radio / TV streams from the Internet. In addition, the user the opportunity to surf the Internet, SOT via FTP to update and using VNC from a client computer to access the box.

Software / Create a new UI with engine ?
15. Oct 2008, 14:47
http://www.windowsfordevices.com/news/NS2466978910.html

What's in the feature pack?

According to Ghangurde, the new Windows CE 5.0 NMD feature pack -- formerly codenamed "Tomatin" -- provides a DVR engine, networking capabilities, device drivers, and video codecs typically required to develop consumer NMDs and IP-STBs.
While Microsoft did not specify precisely which functions result from the addition of the NMD feature pack, the company attributed the following NMD-oriented features to the composite, Windows CE 5.0 + NMD Feature Pack OS.

    * Protocols and wireless standards support:
o TCP, IPv4, IPv6, NDIS, SSL, SNMP, XML
          o 802.11x, BlueTooth, IrDA, USB 2.0, SDIO
o Windows Connect Now USB configuration

    * Extensive multimedia support:
          o Windows Media 9 / VC-1
+ Software VC-1 compliant codec (SD & HD); license to be acquired through MPEG LA, LLC
+ Faststart, Multicast, and Unicast Streaming
+ HTTP 1.1, MMS, or local file streaming
          o Additional codecs
                + Included: WAV, MP3, MPEG-1, MPEG-4 MS ISO
                + Through third parties: MPEG-2, MPEG-4 AVC/H.264, Real, On2...
o Direct Show -- flexible media playback engine for software- or hardware-assisted decoding
                + Sample media player application
                + OCX control
o Graphics through GDI, DirectX 8, or Direct 3D Mobile

    * Integrated NMD middleware and sample UI:
o UPnP, UPnP A/V, UPnP DCP
o Windows Media Connect v2.0 compatible Media Query Engine
o Sample NMD user interface (UI) with play list management and playback (photo, video, music)
o Full UI source code provided

    * Content protection and DRM:
o Windows Media Digital Rights Management 10
+ Support for direct license acquisition (IPTV, Internet download,...)
+ Windows Media DRM 10 for Network Devices (for faster PlaysForSure certification)
o Third party DVB Conditional Access Systems (CAS) available

Additionally, the composite Windows CE 5.0 + NMD Feature Pack OS provides a customizable Internet Explorer 6.0 Web browser that features Jscript, VB script, and HTML 4.0 support, along with what Microsoft describes as a "TV-lens for 10 foot experience: directional tabbing, disabled scrolling." Plus, of course, all other Windows CE 5.0 features.

Thanks Mick very informative info

Changes such as bool for example, when editing the il then compiling produces exe's that always require more compression (even commented out & bytes 00). Changes made directly to the exe seem to be more reliable when injecting back. Is the reason for this with binmod ? or must the file be as close to the original in size. The code would still not fit unless some of the original code was deleted to replace bigger modded code (in class/methods). Is it possible to just make variable changes to create standalone client as the GUID req is an object interested to know how Mick got as far as he did without the necessary data. Old client injects and runs however this doesnt seem to be of any benefit.

Is disabling the wintrust model the only hope to run a modded client. Wintrust changes made in the new kernel is their a major difference in code or a lazy adjustment somewhere like the old version.

Anyone have access to the old PKG version.  :-X

Everything is running as it should (ftp/http), however what would be the best approach to modifing the newer client and running from the box ?

1. Injecting back -> nk.bin or can the client be executed from the client dir.
2. Hexing or Relfector as Relfector has been said to alter the final exe.

Also is it possible to start/run & use exectuables from the webgui as I dont see any indication of it running i.e shell.exe from the webgui.

Thanks :)

4 Quick shot questions, i've read alot but cant figure out the following ;)

1. Modchip status - When the modchip is in action what should be the display from the leds. Mine currently goes yellow, red finally green (all solid, no flickering) is this correct ?

2. Box Updating - As I understand the chip ignores the failed boot attempts etc, so should not go to n09 does this mean that the box is protected from updating to a newer kernel. Basically how do you insure the box current version of tv2client is protected from it being updated.

3. Box startup - When the box hands over to windows ce as mick states i,e box appears to reset after "please wait", blank screen and flashing green light front of the box. How long should this be for and if it does stay in this state forever why ?

4. Kernel Downgrade - If the box goes in to recovery mode aka n09 then updates to a newer kernel is there away to downgrade to the exploited version. For example I have a backup of the original Nk.bin if this was placed back to the drive would this work & if not is there a solution?

Thanks again all

Hardware / DIT9719/05 modchip 3.3v point
17. Sep 2008, 15:29
Finished the modchip with leds  :) (thanks for all your help & support) , I have not patched any files on the HDD as of yet (want to know if the modchip works 1st, which it doesnt).

The 3.3v line which is near "A" on the pcb doesnt appear to be on my board can someone please clarify the location. Currently it is soldered above to a diff point (my mistake) at the moment the box turns on says "please wait" then turns off HDD sounds like it is still running, greenlight flashes. Checked the voltage to the modchip and nothing, to the psu it appears to be on a 3.3v line but is diff not correct to that of micks.

Model no of the box is from the packaging DIT9719/05 (is this correct or is it located else where  :-\)

Ended up using a usb cable which was quick, thanks again for all your help  :)

I have made the programmer and can only seem to be able to write the fuses i.e clk 0,1,3. But cannot seem to be able to write the hex, always says writing failed after finished. Does the programmer need addtional power source to program the atmega8 ?

I am confused asmto the wire to the Atmega from the parallel port, any help would be most appreacited.

Many thanks

 :-\

Have a B'T Vision box and would like to unlock the bugger (and a have a tinker), im abit stumped though about the modchip layout.
Looking at the schematic theres a capacitor C1 100nf, is this needed as I cant see it in micks modchip layout from his guide.

Many thanks
