I bought another box off ebay (for experimental purposes).
When it arrived it was a model DIT7421/05, this looks almost identical to the DIT9719.
The main differences I have found so far:
The top rear USB port is no longer there (not populated on the board) and the rear panel has only a slot cut for one USB port.
The modem components are no longer populated, and the telephone connection at the back is no longer there.
The main PCB is identical, and shares the same PCB number as the DIT9719
I have not checked the bootloader version, which I suspect may be different, or at least I would expect the model number reported to be different, so an update to the chip / jtag program may be needed.
