Herman sent me a link to another box that is similar to the BT Vision DIT9719.

It is model number: DCR7101/03
And seems to hold the display, which I thought was missing from the BT offering (noticed the pads on the front panel where a display could be attached).

Hopefully someone can take a picture of the display board, so we can identify the components required

indeed the upc box mentioned is a docsis cable stb from upc in ireland but i see no information whether it is smp cpu powered.
I found this out via the /pub/pce-3032/ in ToolsPackagetUPC.zip readme and really dont know what pce-3032 covers ...?
I did see a nice linux toolchain & target filesystem in sercomm too
also, seems a similar but darker dual dvb-s vox exists for canal and that this is a part pace chipset ? seems to have pace stamps on it !

Cablecom has 4 or 5 different boxes, at least one of them should be smp-based, the others use a sti5100.
