Finally got round to soldering up the JTAG on my box.. the small scale was actually easier than I thought... but so far no luck...
With the box powered off or without the jumper bridged (I forgot about that 1st time round  ;D ) I get a CPUID of all 000000000s
When powered on and jp bridged, I get CPUID of all 1111111111s.
From reading through the german posts with similar results, it looks like I might have the DIT9719 equivelent of a X301t :-(  either that or I've somehow messed up the JTAG.

Any ideas where I might have gone wrong?  I followed the second jtag diagram for wiring the GND on the parallel port (pin20 and 25), do all the pins (18-25) need to be connected to GND?

Attached a pic of my micro-wiring (note the Dec 2007 date on the board)...

Any ideas?

Cheers

Wiring looks fine.
I had the same problem with my other PC when running the dumper.
Have you tried the C# version?

I eventually tried a different PC and it worked fine :S

the wiring i used was the same as the second one too
LPT PORT              BOX
2                >>>      3
3                >>>      9
4                >>>      7
13               >>>     5

i used pins 6&8 on the box (GND) wired to any of the GND pins on the LPT port.

All I can say is...  D'OH!!!!

I checked and double-checked, probably even triple checked before I even switched on the box last night...
Maybe it was the soldering fumes, but in the cold light of day... I checked again and I've got the pins 3&4 on the LPT switched....

I'll have another go later... not out of the game yet... :)

Switched the pns, fired it up...

looking better ;D
