I have an X300t and my goal is to use it as a DVB-T set-top-box without T-Home subscription.

Reading through the topics here I concluded that in order to bypass the disaster recovery a modchip would be needed. But I would like to avoid soldering so I am thinking about to add a routine to booterCE.exe to reset the boot counter in BOOT.PRF every time it is started.

Could this work? Is there anyone who has already tried this?

Thanks

Hoernchen

No modifications without modchip. A modified files invalidates the signature which in turn leads to three reboots and a disaster recovery, the modchip kills the signature check.
