Modchip layout Slightly confused ?

Have a B'T Vision box and would like to unlock the bugger (and a have a tinker), im abit stumped though about the modchip layout.
Looking at the schematic theres a capacitor C1 100nf, is this needed as I cant see it in micks modchip layout from his guide.

not really. they are decoupling caps on the supply to the atmega. most folk run fine without em
