hi...
just out of curiosity, are there any good images available from the PCB of the Philips DIT9719 ?

BTVHack

I Will upload some, just need to find my Camera.

missing since christmas

I have uploaded a so-so image to the wiki.

This is a slot for a viewing card and a smart card, they use a viewing card for premium dvb-t

I will upload a different image with breakdown of board

I like how they covered the flashrom in this white stuff ;)
not sure if that makes any sense, since the content of the rom will be most likely encrypted anyway... but looks nice :)

that empty connector named "1300" just left of the SMP could be a good candidate for a JTAG interface

BTVHack

I was looking towards the right of the SMP at the port 1052

One could be Uart the other JTAG

BTVHack

Found it - (almost certain) it is below 1300 - 1301.... It's even marked with pin 1 and pin 14.... Don't know how I missed it before.
Will be brave and solder some pins onto it and give it a shot.

mce2222

you should check if the even pins are all GND... if not, it is unlikely to be a JTAG port.

BTVHack

Harsh lesson learned.... never solder directly onto a board without using a low voltage soldering iron.
Managed to strip the tracks of the ports..... luckily it was my spare box, and suprisingly it still works.

Might have to take a file to the SMP chip now to get things moving.

mce2222

did you check if the port is actually the JTAG ?

BTVHack

no, my only way of testing is to connect up and hope for the best.

mce2222

sounds risky...
using an ohm-meter to check against GND and also the JTAG traces on the CPU is not too difficult and might save your box ;)

Im a fly by the seat of my pants type of guy though....  :'(

Hi

Another Brit here. I've been eyeing up a BT Vision box as a replacement for my mythbox which keeps screwing
up so it's no longer "girlfriend approved".

I'm not a member of BT, so the box apparently won't work unless it's connected via BT Broadband. Is there a way
using the modding described in the wiki for the x300t to bypass that check?

Sorry if it's a dumb question.
