Hi all , iv got a couple of bt vision boxes that iv pulled the hard drives out of (seagate Pipeline HD 160gb sata), i wanted to use them in a pc , but as expected they wer not recognized.

iv done abit of searching on how to unlock them and the only thing iv come across is this http://www.t-hack.com/forum/index.php?topic=696.0

does anybody have a more detailed guide on how to do it , iv booted my pc with just one of the hdd's connected and loaded up HDAT2 , but i cant even find the ERASE UNIT command. do i need to hotswap the drives from the vision box to my pc to have it unlocked in the 1st place?

any help much appreciated

Boogie

Iv tried hooking the harddrive up to another computer and booting hdat2 , all went fine , it detected the drive , got all the menus up, im guessing it could of been an unsupported chipset in the other computer?

I ran the ERASE UNIT command in hdat2 using the password " PACE FRANCE Master Security PWD2 " as stated here http://www.t-hack.com/forum/index.php?topic=696.0

But it keeps on failing. possibily all the boxes have a unique password ?? Iv tried it by connecting the harddrive directly to the pc and booting and by booting the hdd in the box and hotswapping the sata leads.

Also stated in the previous post is the use of MHDD and an output file from that called 22.bin to retrieve the password Iv tried using MHDD but its over my head if anybody can give me any pointers on that i would be very grateful.

Thanks

Mike

I imagine you've got it sorted by now anyway but I've just put a 'pipeline' disk into my PC.
It was from another Hard disk recorder though, not a BT box, and my PC bios recognised it ok.
It didn't show up in my computer though ......and wont until you initialise the disk !
Thats done in - Control panel/Administrative tools/computer management/ storage/disk management (local ) ........where the PC should see it and cause a pop-up window to appear giving you the option to initialise the new disk it has just recognised.
